Tawny Owls

Welcome to Tawny Owls

Class 1: Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
Teacher: Miss Powell

Teaching Assistant: Miss Edwards

We are an enthusiastic, hardworking and caring group of 13 children aged 4 years old to 7 years old (Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2).

The children in our Early Years practice and demonstrate skills to help them achieve Early Learning Goals (ELG) through continuous provision (practical play-based learning) and independent and guided learning tasks. Similarly, the children in Year 1 and 2 learn through independent, group and guided group work.

Spring 1 Topic: ‘People Who Help Us’

During this topic we will discuss and explore who and how ‘people help us’ within our own community (Police Officers/ Firefighters/Nurses…); read and write our own narratives (stories) where characters ‘help each other’ and through our history learning, discuss and explain how significant people (Florence Nightingale) have helped others in the past by comparing the past and present and understanding the chronology.
